Temporary Graduate visa (Subclass 485)
A temporary visa that allows international students to live, study and work after you have finished your studies.
Graduate Work stream
This visa is for international students who have recently graduated with skills and qualifications that are relevant to specific occupations in Australia needs. It lets you live, study and work in Australia temporarily.
You must:
- be under 50 years of age
- have a qualification relevant to an occupation on the skilled occupation list
- be assessed as having skills suitable for an occupation on the skilled occupation list
You can:
- live, study and work in Australia temporarily
- bring your family members
Include your family:
You can include members of the family unit in your application when you apply. Family members who apply for the visa must meet our health and character requirements. You can add your children to the application until a decision on your application is made. You can't add any other member of the family unit to your application during that period. Your family can also apply to join you in Australia as a subsequent entrant after the visa is granted.
Apply from:
You must be in Australia but not in immigration clearance when you apply, and if your application is granted. Subsequent entrants can be in or outside Australia when they apply and when their visa are granted.
Post-Study Work Stream
This visa is for international students who have recently graduated with a degree from an Australian institution. It lets you live, work and study in Australia, temporarily.
You must:
- be under 50 years of age
- hold an eligible visa and meet the English proficiency requirement
- have a recent degree in a CRICOS-registered course
You can:
- live, study and work in Australia temporarily after you have finished your studies
- bring your immediate family members stay with you
Include your family:
You can include members of the family unit in your application when you apply. Family members who apply for the visa must meet our health and character requirements. You can add your children to the application until a decision on your application is made. You can't add any other member of the family unit to your application during that period. Your family can also apply to join you in Australia as a subsequent entrant after we grant your visa.
